Weekend #1 Adventures

With the start of Tye's new job, we sat down and decided that since we really only had the weekends together we were going to try to make the most of them. We also didn't want to be those people who lived in a really cool place that has tons of stuff to do and didn't take the opportunity to see the cool stuff.
So, we headed to Tillamook, Oregon, home of Tillamook cheese. We started our afternoon with a self-guided tour of the cheese factory. It was pretty awesome.
Ah, the cheese logo. Isn't it beautiful?

Ah, the outside of the cheese factory........isn't it beautiful also?

If you know me, you know I LOVE to eat blocks of cheese for meals. These are some HUGE blocks of cheese. They make 4 cartons of sliced cheese out of one of these blocks.

Cows. Where all cheese makes it's start. Oh, and Tye. Not where cheese gets it's start.

The best part of the cheese factory: cheese curds!!! If you haven't had any, try some. You won't regret it.

I LOVE SAMPLING CHEESE!!!

Next stop on our adventure was 7 miles South of Tillamook to a waterfall called Munson Falls. It was a 1/4 mile trail to the falls. All the trees are covered with so much moss it looks like an imaginary forest.

Muson Falls. 300 feet of glorious water fall. Worth the hike if you are ever in the neighborhood.

Self Portrait in the rain.

Next stop on the tour, the coast of Oregon. This is Tillamook Lake.

Tillamook Lake is 6 miles across and only 6 feet at it's deepest. You can literally walk all the way across it. It's a popular place to fish, for good reason.

Along the Oregon coast.

Ditto the recommendation to try Tillamook cheese curds. They are awesome! So is their ice cream, the yogurt....all the yummy "no calorie" products that we can't get in Colorado!

Most spoiled cows on the planet live in and around Tillamook, by the way!
