Tye and I were sitting at home eating dinner and watching tv. We got a call from some friends who said the moon was really cool and since they knew I had a cool camera to capture it, they called. Tye and I drove up to the office on camp to see if we could get a clear shot and we couldn't. As we were driving back to our house, I suggested that the overlook 5 miles away may be a clear shot. We didn't go home and in fact, we had no cell phones and no wallets with us when we left last night to go to the overlook.
We were laughing and having a good ol' time driving up the hill when we pass a truck stopped in the road wanting to talk with us. It ends up being two friends of ours from church. They were stopping traffic coming up because a car was stuck in some snow, blocking the road ahead.
Tye always is prepared with the right tools in the car to pull people out. So, we all head back up to pull this car out. We meet Zack and Shanae, who on their first date are stuck in the snow.
Shanae kept asking us if we believed in God and if we went to church. She didn't believe in God until this night when 4 strangers came to help pull her car out of the snow. She was so grateful and said that she hadn't ever been to church but she wanted to start going. It was amazing how this one little help could have a huge impact on Shanae's life. It led me to ask the question, is our society filled with tons of people who could care less about others? Did Shanae's life consist of lots of people who never care or help and therefore, this one simple act of service was enough to change her world? It's amazing.
Be on the look out for when God causes your world to "collide" with someone else's.
